Membership
How to apply for BFAS membership:

Choose your membership type
o Full membership: for orthopedic foot & ankle surgeons working or residing in Belgium: €120/year
o Junior membership: for orthopedic trainees/fellows with an interest in foot & ankle surgery: €70/year
o Complementary membership: A reduced-fee membership for professionals who are already full members of another EFAS-affiliated national society: €70/year
o Associate membership: for medical doctors with an interest in foot & ankle surgery: €120/year -
Prepare your application documents
You’ll need:
o First and last name
o Date of birth
o Home address
o Work address
o Email and phone number
o RIZIV/INAMI number
o Curriculum vitae
o For Full membership: Please provide the names of 2 BFAS members who can act as references -
Submit the registration documents to office@bfas.be
After submission, you should receive a confirmation email. -
BFAS Council review
Your application is reviewed and approved by the BFAS Council. -
EFAS affiliation
Once your BFAS membership is approved, the BFAS secretary reports your profile to EFAS. This activates your EFAS Affiliated National Society Membership, including the EFAS journal subscription.
Important distinction: Full members can be elected to the BFAS Council. Junior, Associate or Complementary members have the educational/social benefits but cannot vote or be elected to BFAS Council.
